Religious activities begin amidst an atmosphere of spiritual reverence.
The religious activities of the new edition of the Moulay Abdellah Amghar Moussem were officially launched on Friday, presided over by the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region and the Governor of El Jadida province. The event was attended by the President of the El Jadida Provincial Council, the President of the Moulay Abdellah Commune, and the President of the Local Council of Ulema of El Jadida, alongside numerous civil, military, judicial, and religious dignitaries. The opening ceremony, held in the Moussem’s official tent, featured addresses by the President of the El Jadida Provincial Council, the Vice-President of the Moulay Abdellah Commune, and the President of the Local Council of Ulema. The speakers unanimously highlighted the religious, historical, and cultural significance of this centuries-old event—regarded as one of the Kingdom's most important moussems—due to its contribution to preserving national intangible heritage, reinforcing the nation's authentic values, and boosting the province's economic and tourism sectors. The ceremony concluded with a prayer beseeching the Almighty to grant aid and victory to the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI; to shower His blessings upon His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan; to support His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid; and to preserve all members of the Illustrious Royal Family. Organized under the supervision of the Local Scientific Council of El Jadida and the Provincial Delegation for Islamic Affairs, the religious activities of this first day featured a rich spiritual program, highlighting the Kingdom's religious constants and the wealth of spiritual heritage associated with this significant site of memory. The mosque is hosting a religious lecture delivered by Mr. Abdelmajid Mouhib, President of the Local Council of Ulema of El Jadida, on the theme: "The fruits of acts of worship in light of Prophetic guidance." This address highlights the educational and spiritual dimensions of acts of worship, as well as their role in reinforcing the values of moderation, the middle path, and adherence to the teachings of Islam. The opening day’s program will continue with a *Samâa* and *Madih* evening performance by specialized ensembles, offering the faithful and visitors a moment of spiritual reflection and communion rooted in Moroccan Sufi traditions. This first day will also feature a ceremony honoring several distinguished figures in recognition of their commitment to religious affairs and their contribution to safeguarding the spiritual and cultural heritage associated with the Moussem of Moulay Abdellah Amghar.
